Here you can see how the Business Centre has developed over time.

2022

  • Business Centre is awarded as the TOP employer 2021 in the Global Business Services sector in Latvia.
  • Circle K Business Centre has gotten a Family-Friendly Workplace status

2021  

  • Business Centre is awarded as the best employer in Latvia in the Global Business Services sector in 2020.  
  • Circle K Business Center Riga joins the Latvian Diversity Charter.

2020  

  • Global Fuels starts fuel distribution planning for US stations.  

2019   

  • Business Centre Riga is awarded as Business Services Firm of the year (2018) in the Baltics at CEE Business Services awards. 
  • Business Centre becomes one of the founders of the ABSL (Association of Business Service Leaders).   

2018

  • Financial controlling and end-to-end credit collection functions are transferred from Circle K European Business Units to Business Centre Riga.

2017 

  • Circle K establishes a new company in Ireland - “Circle K Ireland Fuel Trading”. Business Centre Riga expands in the Finance & Control area to support the new business model. 

  • Circle K Business Centre becomes an ACCA (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) approved employer. 

2016  

  • The new location opens in Warsaw, Poland.
  • Statoil Fuel & Retail Business Centre is renamed Circle K Business Centre. 
  • In February 2016, Alimentation Couche-Tard acquires a Topaz fuel retail network in Ireland. Business Centre starts to integrate Topaz business in all teams in Business Centre Riga, which grows as a result of this during the years 2016–2018. 
  • Global Fuels Supply Operations for Europe moved and centralised in Riga. 

2015

  • Scope in Finance & Control continues to grow. End-to-end processes are transferred to Riga for the functions of Financial Accounting and Reporting, Fixed assets, Accounts Payable, Order-to-Cash, and Station accounting. Also, the IT scope gets expanded.   
  • Alimentation Couche-Tard acquires the Shell fuel retail network in Denmark. Business Centre heavily participates in the integration process.

2014

  • More services are transferred to the Business Centre. IT Service Desk, Customer Service for Scandinavia and also expanding the scope for Finance & Control function. Over 266 employees deliver the results.  

2013

  • Already 136 dedicated employees have helped to build our team. The company expands and starts to provide Fuel stock controlling, Customer Service Latvia, IT, and Transport Fuel operations. 

2012

  • On 14th February 2012 the Business Centre celebrates its grand opening and starts to deliver its first services with 30 employees onboard: Finance & Control (Indirect tax for Latvia and other finance functions for Scandinavia) and HR administration functions for Latvia and Scandinavia. Later during the same year, Finance & Control function is taking on accounting tasks for CEE Circle K countries.  

2011

  • The decision to establish the Business Centre in Riga is made.

2010 

  • Statoil Fuel & Retail runs a pilot project with the Central Distribution Planning department to prove that services can be centralised – serving as the beginning of the Business Centre.
